Rubini Ball
Rubini is a yoga teacher who learns, practices, and teaches in a way that centres collective liberation. Rubini is committed to a decolonial, anti-caste and intersectional practice and is constantly learning how to create a yogic practice that is freeing for all bodies. Rubini is trained Vinyasa, pranayama, mantra & meditation. Rubini is also a social worker and counsellor who brings this knowledge into her classes.
Rubini’s teaching style is gentle, respectful, embodied and empowering. Rubini always encourages students to listen to their own body with a focus on releasing pressure or judgement to look, be, or perform in a certain way. Rubini believes that activism for collective liberation should be intertwined with yogic practice. Her teaching emphasises caring for both self and the collective: pushing against the colonialist, capitalist and self-centred values often seen in the western yoga industry.
I want my students to experience liberation within their own bodies so that they can use that experience to fight for the rights of others to experience the same.
